PSNext helps deliver Battlefield Capabilities

"PSNext met all of our expectations in managing a complex environment." - Ralph Mills, Executive Manager, Denel IIS.

Denel Integrated Systems Solutions (DISS) are using PSNext to manage the delivery of complex battlefield capabilities using the System-of-Systems (SoS) concept.

In the multi-tiered and high-tech Defence Contract environment there is an increasing emphasis being placed on the System-of-Systems (SoS) concept. Systems are being designed and developed and then brought together to provide comprehensive battlefield capabilities – it is no longer sufficient to deliver an anti-tank weapon or and air defence missile, you have to provide an anti tank capability, or an air defence capability that may stretch over the boundaries of traditional systems thinking.

In such programmes, complex relationships exist between the prime contractor and the subcontractors and suppliers in the delivery of the integrated capability. This involves a complex network of inter-related tasks often with interdependencies that have to be managed closely. In addition the uniqueness of each scenario requires a high degree of flexibility in terms of exactly what is being monitored and measured.

According to Mr Ralph Mills, Executive Manager - Denel Integrated Systems Solutions (DISS), they focus on delivering battlefield capabilities by integrating component systems. "In fact we do not have a single product or write a single line of code. We focus on designing the systems architecture and then managing and integrating the efforts across a broad supplier base, ultimately taking the responsibility of delivering a capability to our clients." says Mills.

PSNext Flexibility

"At DISS we found that PS Next met all of our expectations in managing a complex environment. In many instances, PSNext brought a new dimension of flexibility allowing us to manage complex defence contracts". By using PSNext, DISS was able to easily customise their programme management environment. "The flexibility of PSNext is such that implementation is limited by the imagination and creativity of the team. We are not constrained by the rigidity one finds in other project management tools."
