Sciforma (previously named PSNext) was chosen, after an extensive selection process, as the Portfolio and Project Management Solution of choice by Salmat Pty Ltd. Salmat expects the Sciforma implementation to result in significant savings with a return of investment achieved in less than a year.
Salmat is Australia's leading marketing services provider specialising in targeted customer communication solutions. With over 7000 employees and hundreds of projects every year, they identified a need to introduce a new system to help effectively manage the extensive project load.
According to Matt Jeffrey, the EPMO manager: “The sheer scale and quantity of projects across Salmat has led to a number of fundamental challenges, which could no longer be supported by existing processes and systems.”
Over time, Salmat has developed sophisticated spreadsheets to support the well established Salmat project life cycle. “It was obvious that without a portfolio management tool, Salmat would not be able to deal with the big challenges our project management teams were facing,” he added.
Sciforma, supported by Management Planning Systems (MPS), was unanimously chosen by the selection committee.
“We have been extremely impressed by the professional approach taken by MPS. They thoroughly understood our requirements and configured Sciforma exactly as expected. The system looks great and is easy to use. I am confident that the total solution provided by MPS will meet our needs,” said Mr Jeffrey.
Salmat anticipates significant benefits with this implementation. “We expect Sciforma to provide us with a wide range of benefits, such as providing a clear view of Salmat's project portfolio, doing inter-business unit cost recoveries, giving better visibility, improving the planning and control of all projects, reducing project delays and keeping track of lessons learnt,” he said.
